A Richardson Boston Teapot

A Richardson Boston Teapot

This pear shaped teapot uses a "London" touch that was used by a succession of Boston pewterers including Robert Bonynge who worked there during the mid 18th century.

This teapot was made by George Richardson, who ended up possessing this "London" die. How he got it is unknown. What is known is the fact he decided to mark some of his wares with this touchmark while he was working in Boston circa 1818 to 1828.

During this period English/London quality pewter was still the world standard.

In very good to fine condition with a fine touchmark. 7" tall to the top of the finial.

Price: $1850
