An Eagle Pewter Ice Cream Mold - SOLD

This Pewter Ice Cream Mold is from the early 20th century.The mold is marked E & Co. for Eppelsheimer and Co. from New York City. I found on the web that the expertise for the mold design and making were the creative abilities of a Joseph Micelli, Sr.

The details on the eagle are very well executed. The mold measures 5 7/8" across.

An interesting pewter item showing that the metal continued to be a part of the manufacturing base well into the 20th century, prior to the revival with the production of reproduction and modern forms.
