This unmarked American Beaker or Tumbler measures 2 3/4" tall. These are generically referred to as 3" beakers. Most collectors refer to them as beakers, however, many mid-nineteenth century pewterers called them tumblers.
They were produced by the thousands by a considerable number of makers. Most are unmarked however there were quite a few makers who did mark examples of this form. Ashbil Griswold, Thomas Boardman, Samuel Hamlin, James Weekes jus to name a few.
