William Charsley produced pewter in London from 1729-1770's and had a substantial export market to the Colonies.
The items he exported included taper sided tankard, tulip tankards, and flagons like the example shown here.
The lid has a very attractive finial mounted on it. The body has a wonderful heavy turned band on the upper portion. The "broken" type handle give a superb balance to the entire piece.
In fine condition with only a slight etching to the inside bottom. The flagon measures 13" to the top of the finial.
Price: $2750
