A Superb Sheffield Late 18th Century Engraved Pewter Teapot - SOLD

Of all Federal Period English Teapots, those produced by the Sheffield Pewterers were of the highest quality and design, this example is one of the finest we have ever had.

Marked C & E on the outside bottom. The teapot measures 5 5/8" to the top of the finial. The overall length is 10 3/4"

The fluted body is beautifully engraved with a central shield and beautifully executed "borders". The lid is also engraved as are the handle ferrules and the spout.

This pot retains its original handle and wood finial button. A superb example of an Export Pewter teapot
