An Unmarked Stedman Pewter Ladle - SOLD

An Unmarked Stedman Pewter Ladle

This 14 1/8" long ladle is an unmarked Simeon Stedman example. Stedman worked in Hartford, Connecticut from 1818-1825.

Stedman ladle's have this distinctive curved wood handle with urn finial.

Some examples are marked "STEDMAN" stamped at the junction of the wood and metal parts of the handle with a portion of the touch on each. Like this example not all were marked.

This is in near fine condition with signs of use. The wood is near perfect. A handsome form of ladle.
