Single Reeded Rim Plate by Townsend & Compton - SOLD

This 7 5/8" single reeded plate is typical of those sent to America by the Townsends. The firm of Townsend and Compton was in business in London from around 1784-1806.

Thomas Compton was John Townsend's son-in-law. They went into business together circa 1779.

In fine condition with a few knife marks
