Burford & Green were in business in London from 1748 until Green retired in 1780.
They had a active export business and are known from tankards, teapots, plates, dishes and basins. The quality of their work is excellent both in metal and design.
This particular tankard has the same "WR" Crowned touch as is found on some of Samuel Ellis' export tulip form tankards. Also the lid is cast in the same mold as those found on the Ellis tulip tankards.
7 3/16" tall to the top of the thumbpiece. In very fine condition. The touchmark is a nearly perfect impression. The interior is absolutely as clean as one could hope to find an 18th century tankard
Price: $2950
