An Export Pewter Plate by Joseph Spackman

This export pewter plate is the product of the shop of Joseph Spackman of London 1749-99.

Spackman apparently had a modestly successful export market based on anecdotal evidence of items made by him found in New England.

The quality of workmanship and design were excellent. Flatware and Hollowware including teapots and tankards are known by him.

This plate is in fine condition and measures 7 5/8" in diameter.
