An Export Plate by Edgar Curtis & Co - SOLD

This plate is by Edgar Curtis & Co from Bristol, England. The firm was in business from the 1790s until the early 1800s.

This plate is 7 7/8" in diameter and is in very good plus condition. The main touchmark is poorly struck. The London mark is quite clear.

This plate is typical of those made in Bristol for export. The color indicates that there is some lead in the metal. Apparently the control of the pewter made for export from Bristol was not as strict as the London Guild.
