An Pewter Export Basin by John Watts - SOLD

John Watts I worked in London from 1725-66 and had a modest export market to America. This well made high quality metal is typical of the wares he produced.

Plates and dishes we have encountered have all been of fine quality metal and well made. The hammered booge is typical of London quality wares.

This 8" basin is in fine condition especially for the age. Basins generally saw heavy usage and this one escaped that fate.

The marks show some wear the hammering is strong,and the heft of the basin is substantial. A nice addition to an Export pewter collection
