British Pewter > Teapots, Coffeepots, Pitchers & Sugar Bowls
This egg-shaped teapot is reminiscent of the mid eighteenth century teapots made by the Bassetts of New York and Hartford. A handsome form made during the late 18th century when slush cast hollow handles began to appear. Clearly marked on the inside bottom if fine condition retaining it's original bone button. 6 7/8" tall to top of finial. This pot has the unusual feature of the lid being unattached to the body. The lack of a hinge gives this a very "clean" look.
