A Jacquard pattern coverlet by J. Brosy, Manheim, PA circa 1840.
The use of Blue and White is unusual for Manheim Coverlets. Multi color being the standard. This produces a stark contrast between the pattern and back ground. Made of Wool and Cotton.
Made in two panels seamed in the middle. In excellent condition. The white is very clean free of staining. Note the triple repeat of the pattern on the edges, a characteristic of Brosy's work.
Made for D. Ginrich.
96"L X 77" W.
Signed along the bottom border.
