A Martin Hoke Jacquard Pattern Coverlet - SOLD

A Martin Hoke Jacquard Pattern Coverlet

Martin Hoke was born in Germany and emigrated to America where he went into business as a weaver in
Dover, York County, Pennsylvania.

One of his advertisements stated he wove both wholesale and retail.

Examples of his work have corner blocks dated from 1833-1847. This example is dated 1841. The top edge is rolled and sewn there is three colored wool fringe on the side edges and white cotton fringe on the bottom edge, all in very good condition.

In fine condition with very slight discoloring. Measures 85" wide by 100" long.
