A 8 1/8" Single Reed Rim Hamlin Plate marked on the Face of the Well - SOLD

8 1/8” Single Reed Rim Plate by Samuel Hamlin. Over the years I have had numbers of plates and dishes by Samuel Hamlin, however this is the first example I
have encountered where the touch marks are struck on the inside of the well of the plate in the manner their basins were marked.

This bears the Samuel Hamlin Fan Shaped touch with foliate support along with the hallmarks. As to whether Hamlin Sr. or Jr’s shop produced this is uncertain.
Either way this is a most unusual Hamlin Plate.

The plate is in very good condition with a few small shallow pits. The touches are fine “as struck”.
