An Unmarked Eben Smith Inverted Mold Teapot - SOLD
Although this teapot is unmarked it is undoubtedly from the shop of Eben Smith of Beverly, MA.
Smith worked in the same building as Israel Trask. Their work and designs are strongly similar. They both are known for the "bright-cut" engraving frequently found on examples of their pewter.
This pot is in fine condition. There are a few light dents to the back of the handle. Yes the color on the metal button is correct. This pot had traces of this color on the button and we have seen several others with the same color. This was done to mimic coral or colored ivory.
7 3/8" tall to top of finial.
