A Very Fine George Richardson Sugar Bowl - SOLD

A Very Fine George Richardson Sugar Bowl

Sugar bowls by George Richardson were made famous by J. B. Kerfoot when he decided to use one as the frontispiece in his book on American pewter.Since then these bowls have been highly sought after by collectors.

This example has the same grouping of touches as the one in Kerfoot. This bowl is 5 1/4" tall to the top of the finial. In very fine condition with mint touches. Some light distress to the underside of the lid. Interior of the bowl is nearly in new condition.

This is the finest example of one of these we have ever had. Richardson worked in Cranston, RI from 1828-45.
