A Pewter Cream Pitcher by Sellew & Co. - SOLD
This pewter cream pitcher was made by Sellew & Co, of Cincinnati, Ohio a firm owned by Enos, Osman, and William Sellew, producing products from 1830 until 1860.
The firm produced produced tea and coffeepots along with plates lamps communion wares of excellent quality and metal. Many of their earlier design items were taken from the Boardman's. Sellew produced a double belly coffee pot strikingly similar to the Boardman's with the exception of the handle.
This creamer measures 5 1/4" tall to the lip and 6 3/16" to the top of the handle. The creamer is in fine condition with the exception of a few light pits on the handle. The touchmark is excellent. This piece is made of cast metal.
