This 4" diameter "Old English Handle" porringer was made by Thomas D. Boardman and his brother, Sherman Boardman in Hartford, CT.
The Boardman Brothers were in business from 1808 until around 1860. This porringer was made early in their partnership as porringers went out of fashion by the 1840's. In fact some of Boardman's day books show a rapid decline in porringer production after 1830.
This porringer is in very good condition with some light pitting to the bowl. The mark is fine as struck.
