A Frederick Bassett Double Dome Lid Tankard - SOLD
This Frederick Bassett double dome lid tankard was made in the molds used by Frederick's father John Bassett.
Frederick Bassett worked in New York City from 1761-1780. He then moved to Hartford, CT and was there from 1780-to around 1785. He then moved back to New York City continuing as pewterer until his death in 1800.
Bassett and his family made some of the finest forms of tankards known to collectors.
There are examples from this mold also made by Francis Bassett II.
This tankard is in very good to fine condition with a near perfect touchmark on the inside bottom.
6 3/4" tall to top of thumbpiece.
