A Pewter and Glass Chamber Lamp by Smith & Co - SOLD

This lamp was produced by the firm of Smith & Co which was located at 3 Haverhill Street in Boston from 1847-1849.

The firm was successors to Thomas Smith and Company and included the same principals, Thomas Smith, David B. Morey, and Henry White.

They produced teapots lamps candlesticks chambersticks and beakers. This lamp is a combination of the pewter industry combined with the glass industry which was active in Boston and on Cape Cod, particularly in Sandwich.

The font of this lamp is a mold blown glass font fitted with a brass collar and burner.

The lamp measures 7 1/4" tall to the top of the burner cap. The lamp is in very good plus condition with a very good touchmark. The burner extinguishing cap is a replacement.
