A Cylindrical Font Whale Oil Sparking Lamp - SOLD

This cylinder font unmarked whale oil lamp is typical of many made in the second quarter of the 19th century.

The font is supported by an attractive turned shaft on a pleasantly designed base, giving the lamp a nice sense of balance.

The font has a pair of incised lines, for decoration. The lamp measures 4 1/2" tall, overall in fine condition. (vh)(ON HOLD)
