A Pattern 1851 Civil War Eagle Buckle with Three Piece German Silver Wreath - SOLD

A Pattern 1851 Civil War Eagle Buckle with Three Piece German Silver Wreath

This is a first pattern 1851 buckle with the three part German Silver Wreath.
These are frequently referred to as NCO belt buckles. Although they were indeed used by NCO's they were also standard issue for troopers in the cavalry, light artillery, and dragoons.

This buckle has a bench number 11 on the back side near the tongue. The buckle is in fine condition. It measures 3 5/16" long and 2' wide. The face side is curved outward. A nice buckle with nice color.
