A Pennsylvania Tab Handle Porringer from the Pennock Mold - SOLD

A Pennsylvania Tab Handle Porringer from the Pennock Mold

Pennsylvania Tab Handle porringer from the molds of Samuel or Simon Pennock of East Marlborough Pennsylvania. Samuel, the father is believed to have worked from 1785 and later and Simon circa 1810-1818.
The shape of their tab handle is distinctive to these men.

This porringer measures 5 7/16” in diameter. The surface is very fine with lathe marks very clear. The back of the handle was roughly finished. To find a PA Tab handle porringer in as fine a condition as this example is unusual. The vast majority of examples we have seen have shown moderate to heavy use and wear. Somehow this example escaped the usual treatment. Of note: the entire porringer including the handle is a single casting unlike the vast majority of porringers where the handles are applied.
